Progress Report

December 31st, 2010

I cannot believe that in Feb 2011 it will be 3 years since my Breast Cancer diagnosis. For 2 years I followed the strict diet outlined in my book. I did everything by the book (excuse the pun), cleared my cancer and felt fabulous. I lost a lot of weight because I cut out all sugar, fat and a lot of carbs, didn’t look too good, but kept going until I got the all clear. Don’t forget I am in my mid 50’s and as much as I wanted to be a size 8 - 10 again, my skin didn’t quite spring back like it was when I was young, so while I had a great figure it made me look a bit old. When I was told that I had no cancer I decided to relax the diet a little and introduced free range organic meat, made all my own bread and cakes and allowed myself to have something sweet occasionally. I have regained some weight, look a whole lot better (people have commented on how healthy I look now) and I feel that I have my life back. Don’t get me wrong though, cancer has scared me, BIG TIME, so I am still very aware of what I put in my body but having said that I feel that I can now live like any normal person, eat what is on offer when I go out, knowing that I have an optimal diet at home.
There is a cure for cancer! There is life after cancer! We just have to do the hard work to get there and really, once you get into the routine, it is not so bad, it’s even easy.
